A new OneIT governance process was introduced in 2017. The governance teams - including six councils, an Operations Team, and a Strategy Team - work closely with campus partners and the broader IT community to ensure that the technology needs of the institution are met and that IT supports the university mission of teaching, research, and service.
The new governance process improves communication and visibility of IT project and services, provides clarity on IT decision-making, aligns investments of money and time with strategy, minimizes risk, and broadens input from the campus community regarding strategic direction and priorities.
In addition, more than a dozen communities of practice encourage cooperation and collaboration among the many IT groups on campus. Community sites, listservs, and contacts are listed on the IT Communities site.
